Position Title: Manager, Applications Development & Support
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the development and support of business applications. Works with project management and business support organizations to understand business requirements provided by them. Works with vendor organizations to construct and deliver application systems based on business needs and requirements. Manages support of applications in production either through internal support teams or through partner organizations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the strategic and tactical ownership of design and direction of merchandising, supply chain and warehouse systems across the enterprise.
Responsible for the development and implementation of new applications, and changes to existing applications to ensure system quality, integrity and efficiency are maintained.
Responsible for the support maintenance of applications in production in managing the quality of service including SLA performance of vendor organization, audit compliance etc.
Drive the compliance and continuous improvement of application development standards, control procedures and documentation.
Drive continuous improvement in service delivery model.
Manage the status of development projects and escalate issues to appropriate levels timely.
Manage outsource support relationship and quality delivery of application development and support.
Manage a team of BAs and on-shore/off-shore support team.
Responsible for business continuity plan within scope of responsibility.
Requirements:
Degree in computer science or related
Minimum 3 year experience in customer/user facing roles in application support and development
Minimum 5 year experience as project lead or manager
In depth knowledge of application systems, business processes and operational issues, preferably in a retail environment
Experience in structured analysis/design and problem solving techniques
Strong analytical, communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills
Strong background in computer science skills and an awareness of emerging systems technology
Knowledge and experience in data modeling and process mapping is preferred
Should have experience in one or more of applications such as merchandize procurement & distribution systems, point of sale systems, financial systems, customer marketing and relationship management
Experience in working in a multi-national, multi-cultural and multi-location environment is desirable
Strong negotiation skills
